Suzannah Evans is a Sheffield-based poet for whom place and location are central themes. More information about her work can be found here

The residency will investigate the relationship between locations and their maps, and the different aspects that come together to assemble an idea of ‘place’; memories, stories, history, personal myths. This residency will investigate location as something other than an absolute, exploring its possible ambiguities and interpretations.

Suzannah is also interested in the way in which new and emerging technologies are used in mapping, for example interactive tools such as Google Maps / Open Street Map, and GPS devices and plans to use some of these technologies as part of the residency, as writing prompts and potentially as aspects of performance or text.

Poetry will be the main method of investigation but Suzannah hopes to collaborate with other residents working in different fields that work alongside the written word.
