Out of Context – Members Exhibition

Posted on August 6, 2013February 7, 2019

06/08/2013

This is the first exhibition of work by Bank Street members.

The artists represent a diverse and eclectic range of creative practice, including amongst others: sculpture, video, poetry, installation, sound and text-work.

Members have been encouraged to participate on their own terms, in order to best represent their practice while being restricted by size. All submissions must conform to the maximum size of one metre wide. All members will have at least one submission exhibited from a maximum of three possible submissions.

BSA Resident Artist, Rachel Smith, will curate this first such exhibition in line with her own working methods. She will use mathematical sequences and chance procedures in order to decide on the juxtaposition of the work exhibited. This curatorial process is intended to allow the show to reflect and potentially highlight the eclecticism of those involved.

The Private View will take place on Tuesday 6th August and the exhibition will run throughout August.
